~ ANTIQUE SHOW LAST SATURDAY ~

We went to the Antique Show in Huntsville, Tx on Sat....sorry to say it was not very exciting...but I am sure the dealers that are packing for Round Top were not there and that was the reason it was not all that interesting..

We even heard one of the dealers complaining....not so good .
But I took a few pic's from around town in a couple of the shoppes ..and at the show itself... all the same.

Regarding the photo of the books...they were all VERY small books..( miniature ) really cute actually.
A neat (large ) olde ceiling tin.
We bought two things , later I'll take
a pic of the OTHER piece of very OLD tin
trim that we got when I get a chance.
And tell you about our plans for it.

~ MORE WANDERING~ in MONTGOMERY, TX

Come along with us on our trip to Montgomery, Tx

My husband and I took a trip to Montgomery, Tx on Saturday....a number of vendors were set up and we wandered around until my old feet could not take it any more.
Lots of uneven ground to walk on there ...so a bit hard to navigate at times.
But it was fun all the same.

WARRENTON, TX

King George & Queen Mary ..this was about 24 by 36 " .

Look at her necklace.

( Enlarge to see details )

Arent' they handsome ?

These were HUGE...with prices to match.

Note the sweet tags...but I forgot to pick a couple up for myself....DAAaaahaaa !

Just to help get yesterday's sadness off my mind...my husband suggested we go up to Warrenton, Tx...some of the Antique dealers were setting up for the SPRING ANTIQUE EXTRAVAGANZA ...and so off we went.
I am TIRED to the bone and... oh SO SORE.
( Warning, if you are planning on doing this for the first time.... walking is VERY uneven under foot..and up and down many little hills...LOTS and lots of walking...involved. )
Bought a couple of things that I will try to photograph later as well...just to show you.

By early next week...there will be MANY hundreds of dealers ready for business...
set up ..... all up and down about a 20 mile stretch of road in farmers fields , old buildings and barns...and under tents....on both sides of the road...out in the middle of "nowhere"....
It just ALWAYS amazes me how many
people come from all over the USA to this thing...we saw license plates from at least 10 different States.... just glancing around in the parking lots...

(some belonged to the dealers )

There are some very HIGH END Antique dealers...to just plain junk dealers...and everywhere in between...but...gosh what fun it is seeing it all.

MORE PIC'S TO COME LATER IN THE DAY .

~ IMAGES FROM OUR TRIP TO BRENHAM, TX ~

This is one of those Box board books...

If this had been a bit more BLUE..instead of green..I wouldhave taken it home...but it was a cutie...so chippy and browned on the upper edge..real character to it. What's this...up in the road.......ahead ?

This is the carpeting in one of the Antique Shoppes...I loved it.

A number of these images were taken in
LEFT OVER ANTIQUES..a most delighful Antique Shoppe, just outside of Brenham.

More to come later....
