I was just over at "1893 Victorian Farmhouse"
And she was showing the LOVELY Victorian Home they now own...which was built in you guessed it......1893...and the history behind it...what a treasure of images she has from it.
It got me to thinking...altho...the home I grew up in was not NEAR as elegant or Victorain...it was in our family for over 65 years before my parents finally sold it.
It was built by my great-grandparents in 1899 for $3,000.00 I was told.
The first photo was taken the same year my brother was born ...who is celebrating his 80th Birthday soon.
I lived in it for the first 20 years of my life, along with my sister, three brothers, Mom, Dad and Grandparents.
I loved this house.
It has been cared for beautifully, as you can see (by the second image ).
This picture was taken by a friend of mine in 1999, when it sold then for over $450,000.00 !!
Just had the urge to show it to you all.

I have a question too please.
Can you all tell me...do you get the WORD VERIFICATION along with your comment the first time around...? I find that so often on other blogs and find that very convenient.
But don't know how to change it if not.

Beautiful home! I can see why you wanted to share it with us.
Glad you did
Have a great weekend

What a wonderful house and story, it's so crazy the price it is now. Wouldn't it be fun to go inside of it? You have the same story as I our old home has been loved all these years too. Of course it wasn't as grand as yours. Thanks for sharing Rose.
These pictures are wonderful, Rose. I know how happy you are that the home was taken care of so well.
MEMORIES! My brother bought our family farm and tore down our old family Victorian Farm House down. I can't say I hate him, but there is much un-happiness there. Thanks for stopping by and I love your memories. RC and S
How sweet it must be to have all these lovely memories and to see that the family house is still so well taken care of, that it is loved! Loved reading your story Rose!
Dear Rose,
I enjoyed seeing both photos of your family house. Wow, it looks like quite a large house. Such sweet memories. Happy Easter.
Hi Rose-
So that's your old Irving Park house! That neighborhood is still very lovely, and lots of grand Victorian homes remain in nice condition. That is a large house, but I can imagine with all those people living there, it didn't feel that large! Thanks for sharing!
