Oh Rose we are Kindred Spirits, thanks for sharing on my recent feelings Post... I can so relate to your childhood of suppressed tears, my Dad was of Blackfoot-Apache heritage and I never saw him cry and he did not allow tears, though he was a loving Man and an excellent Father, so it was more a cultural issue I suppose and considered a sign of weakness not to remain stoic and strong regardless of pain or sorrows. So it has been a Journey for me to become more expressive in the realm of tears and expressing or acknowledging sadness or fears more openly and "feeling" those more uncomfortable feelings I was used to trying to conceal and control. I have found great freedom in just realizing a feeling released can then be heard and felt, which is all that it needs in order to go away less reluctantly and not lead us into coping mechanisms to attempt to escape from or ignore them.

Loving the cartoon!
