~ VICTORIAN DETAIL~

This top image is a home in Galveston, Texas...just one of the many that survived the Great Storm of 1900..and some that were built right afterwards.
If you enlarge this second photo...you will see the detail work on this home especially around the windows.
She is a Grand Olde Beauty.....don't you think ?

Rose this is the ultimate victorian, I have never seen such detail around the windows like this. It's so beautiful oh how I would love to restore this one! Thanks for sharing, Pearl

Such a grand building that might be able to tell loads of stories! I can easily see myself sitting on the porch with a nice cup of tea, no doubt you can, too!!

Oh yes Pearl and Ira, I would love to have the money to get ahold of this one, paint it up properly and landscape the grounds, put up some WHITE iron fence..."the whole nine yards".
I would have to change the drapes and such too....
Wonder what it would cost to do all that..or just to PAINT it ? It does look as tho it could use a good painting.
OH and then AFTER...sit out there sipping ice tea.. and give the proper "Queen's wave" to all the people driving by... who were ( of course) taking pictures of our home.

Rose I want so much to live in one of these old Victorian houses!! They just don't build houses like that anymore!

Ms. Rose I would like to win the big lottery(have to buy a ticket first) and take on that second house. I always wanted a house with a tower, I don't know why, very romantic I guess. Thanks for stopping by and I love this post. Richard

OMG I adore Victorian details and these homes are magnificent. Alas, here in the Phoenix area they razed most of the grand Victorians in the 70's before they developed a Historic Preservation conscience so most were lost.

Thanks for visiting my Post, no the only scores I got were the Precious Moments and Holy Water Bottle... the rest was just window shopping and admiring the eye candy. The pitiful Bear was for sale at APPLE TREE and they have several to choose from of that genre, they really are lovely and I'm not certain if they're Vintage Bears or reproductions? They weren't cheap so I'm assuming they could be old???
