Finally got around to doing some Still Life Photography ...it's been months.I had spotted this blue & white pitcher some time ago...with it's burned top, but did not buy it the first time I saw it.
Then the second time I came across it...it was begging me to take it home....the long blue & white narrow dish was from a different antique trip.
The little book was a autograph keepsake from long gone School Days...lots of notes to the person it had belonged to inside..and some illustrations...will photograph them another day.

That's interesting, Rose, the burnt top of the pitcher. Usually one finds dishes that have this from being put into an oven to warm something. I've never seen a pitcher like this. I wonder what happened to it.

Marcie, I am glad you noticed it....it is a synthetic of some sort I'm sure...but looks like silk. Got it at Hobby Lobby... by the yard.
It comes with those twisted "rosettes" on it already.

Diane I was told by an antique dealer that it is often when there has been a fire in the home and this is what happens to some of the pieces of china and crockery.
Not sure about this one of couse, but that is what it looks like to me...even the handle was a bit "scorched".....just "too close to the fire" at one time or another.
LOVED THE SHAPE of it ...like your sweet pitcher you showed a while ago.
