What a beautiful heirloom. My grandfather was a watchmaker & some of the people today do not understand that back-in-the-day timepieces were something precious...not disposable!!
Have a Great Day!

First of all, many thanks for popping in to see me.
What beautiful photographs. It is rather spookky actually.
My dad died in 2008 aged 91 and I have his pocket watch which is very similar (I think that it was probably my grandfather's) AND, he was born in Aylesbury, Buckinghamshire and Waddesdon Manor was his favourite place. It is a very majestic and stunning building, filled with beautiful treasures.
Do you think that, sometimes, these are little reminders of those that have gone ?
We are very lucky in Great Britain as we have so many houses and castles like Waddesdon Manor. XXXX

Hi Jackie, thanks for stopping by MY blog this time....
Yes, they are sweet reminders of the ones that have gone on before us.
Hopefully more often, they like a gentle breeze and not a wound.
Oh how I would love to visit England. Unfortunately, I am past the age (70 +) and physical ability...( I have Fibromyalgia ) ... where I would ever hope to be able to fly over to your beautiful little country and see all the marvelous Manors and Castles you have there.
My husband and I should have simply gone to Europe when we were younger, but we had so many expenses then with our 3 girls going to college and getting married and such.
But we enjoy the images that are being shared now from all over the world... of these DELIGHTFUL places...thanks to digital photography...Blogs and websites, etc.
AND of some places that I have never even heard of before...that are so very beautiful too.
Please do stop by again..and if you have time...would love to have you join my "merry band of blogger's."

Thank you friends.....I do love working with my camera...even tho I do not get as much of the "good" light this time of year like later in the Spring and Summer.
The watch is a TREASURE to him. It has a really worn spot on it...maybe where his grandfather or whomever had it in their pocket and rubbed it with their thummb or something..kind of unusual "wearing" really.
I will try a photograph of that part too.

Rose, what beautiful photos! No coincidence that there are roses on that lovely pitcher! ;-)

You asked if I have one of those cutting machines? Wish I did. Only punches and I've had 3 break in the past couple of months so I'm seriously considering the machines. There are so many to check out to see which is best.

Blessings,
Diane

Diane, with all the work you do with that type of thing, I would think one of those would be perfect for you.
I wish my daughter would open hers and get started using it...I am anxious to try it too..but I don't want to rush her.
It's one of those really, really nice ones you see on the Infomercial's.
It was a gift to her just before her surgery...thinking she would use it while re~cooperating, but she was too sick during that time. Then she went back to work full time after here recovery.
